Food Festivals, Agricultural Shows and the last of the summer events

The weather last weekend was absolutely awful, yet we still had a fantastic time in the Castle grounds of the Abergavenny Food Festival.

We get out to as many of the agricultural shows and local events as we can over the summer. It makes a big difference meeting people in person to share what we do, get folks signed up to find out more and help explain how some of our support (including advice, trees, planting, grants) all works.

There are definitely a few shows we missed this year that we'd like to attend next year, and whilst we don't officially have a stand at the RWAS, we still keep our ear to the ground, with Jen P helping out stewarding and Kate being this years' lead sheep judge!

Highlights have included:

The yearly fun of trying to be at the Llanthony Show and Brecon Shows at the same time

Winning first prize at the Llangynidir show!

Holding a raffle for our fab hamper of hedgerow, food and tree related goodies at the Abergavenny Food Festival!

We're not done yet, as we'll be out a Greener Abergavenny, Rachel is taking a small stand to fair, I'll be down in Cardiff for Cardiff Uni's sustainable careers event and we hope to be at the Royal Welsh Winter fair this November. Whilst we hope to have all of this years schemes wrapped up and confirmed by October we still have a little capacity for hedgerows, and of course we're here to help if you've larger plans for the coming years. Do come and find us or get in touch!
